Wakefield is the epicentre of the Arts in Yorkshire, and it is a golden thread through our school.
At Walton, we believe that the Arts are paramount to children’s holistic development, and provide a range of opportunities for children to shine. We offer a robust programme of Arts opportunities, from both curriculum based to our wider-experiences offer, covering all aspects of the Arts. Where possible, we work with a range of external services to provide even more expertise for our children.

Performances
Children have regular opportunities to perform, create and celebrate throughout their time at Walton. From class assemblies and productions to concerts and special events, we build confidence and give children opportunities to showcase their talents.
Music Lessons
We provide opportunities for children to learn and enjoy music, including specialist teaching and instrumental tuition. Children develop their musical knowledge, creativity and confidence, with opportunities to practise, perform and discover new talents.
Vists and Visitors
We bring the arts to life through a range of visits, visitors and experiences. Trips, workshops and visiting artists, musicians and performers broaden children’s horizons and give them memorable experiences beyond the classroom.
