A proud member of

School Sport

Sport, physical & mental wellbeing is a golden thread through our school.

Developing a lifelong love for health & fitness is key to what we do at Walton. We believe that sport is something that can provide a wide variety of pathways foe children, as well as developing key stills and improving concentration in class. We pride ourselves on an extensive offer, that allows all children the chance to be active, and to represent school with pride. From 2026-27, we will be attending over 100 sporting events in the year, with an aim for every single child in school to take part.

More Information

See below for more information about our offer.

Local Collaboration

Local Collaboration

We are part of a local collaboration of 7 schools who compete on a weekly basis in a number of different sports, all providing a wide range of opportunities for our children to work locally, and be active!

Trust Collaboration

Trust Collaboration

As well as our two local packages, we also compete on a half-termly basis with other schools in Waterton Academy Trust, including out annual MATlympics!

Other Events

Other Events

We have a number of other events in school, such as Paralympic Athlete visits, workshops, the Waterton Girls’ Football Festival, and trips to professional sports fixtures.

Inclusivity & Equality

Inclusivity and equality are at the heart of everything we do in school, especially in sport. Every single one of our children has access to the same offer and the same opportunities.

Sports Awards

Every year we hold our annual Sports Awards, where we celebrate the achievements of all children in showcasing our values!

Parent, Pupil & Staff Events

From September 2026 we will host a number of events where parents & staff are involved in sport with children too!

New Sports

We are always looking for new ways to engage our children in activity and be more inclusive.

Wider Experiences

Our approach to school sport and activity is also built into our trips, for example, our LKS2 children visit the ‘Climbing Works’ to take part in a bouldering session as part of their geography topic.
