A proud member of

Headteacher’s Welcome

On behalf of our entire school community, I would like to welcome you to Walton Primary Academy. I am incredibly proud to be the Executive Headteacher of our wonderful school, where our dedicated staff share an unwavering commitment to our children and families, ensuring that together we are always Moving Forward Together.

Walton is a school with a rich history and a strong sense of identity. As the very first school to join Waterton Academy Trust, we are proud of the role we continue to play at the heart of our local community. We are an ambitious school with high aspirations for every child, underpinned by our values of Fortis (courage), Doctus(curiosity), Amicus (friendship) and Verus (truth). These values shape who we are and guide the way we learn, work and support one another each day.

Our website aims to give you a flavour of life at Walton and provide useful information for parents and the wider community. However, what truly makes Walton special is the atmosphere that exists within our school. Visitors regularly comment on the warm welcome they receive, the positive relationships between children and adults, and the calm, purposeful environment in which our pupils flourish. This is something that can only truly be experienced in person, and visits to meet our incredible children are always warmly welcomed.

My priority as Executive Headteacher is first and foremost to ensure that every member of our school community feels safe, valued and able to thrive. Alongside this, I want Walton to be a school that is both ambitious and inclusive: a place where high expectations and high levels of support go hand in hand. We passionately believe that every child can achieve great things, and it is our professional and moral responsibility to help them discover their strengths, overcome barriers and achieve more than they ever thought possible.

Achievement means many different things. It may be mastering a challenging mathematical concept, performing with confidence in front of an audience, representing the school in sport, showing resilience when learning feels difficult, being a supportive friend, developing independence, or finding the courage to try something new. Whatever success looks like for each individual child, we are committed to ensuring that all children are known, nurtured and celebrated for who they are. Inclusion is not an add-on; it is woven through everything we do. We work closely with parents, carers and external agencies because education is a partnership, and by working together we can provide the very best opportunities for our children.

As part of the Waterton Academy Trust family of schools, we are supported by an organisation that shares our values and commitment to excellence. Being the founding school of the Trust is something we are incredibly proud of, and it brings with it opportunities for collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement that ultimately benefit every child in our care. We hope that you enjoy exploring our website and find everything you are looking for. If you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us. My door is always open for support, feedback or conversation, and I look forward to welcoming you to Walton Primary Academy.

Mr J Bean
Executive Headteacher

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and find out more about Walton Primary Academy.

As Head of School, I have the privilege of seeing first-hand the enthusiasm, kindness and determination that our children bring to school each and every day. Walton is a place where children are encouraged to work hard, embrace new opportunities and take pride in all that they do. We have high expectations, but we also understand the importance of ensuring that every child feels supported, included and valued as an individual.

Our values of Fortis, Doctus, Amicus and Verus are woven through daily life at Walton and help to shape the respectful, aspirational culture that makes our school such a special place. From the classroom to the playground, we aim to nurture confident learners who are curious about the world around them and equipped with the skills and character they need for the future.

Strong relationships with families are incredibly important to us, and we know that children achieve their best when home and school work together. I hope our website provides an insight into the many opportunities available to our pupils and captures the sense of pride we all have in being part of the Walton community.

I look forward to welcoming you to our school and sharing all that Walton Primary Academy has to offer.

Mr Craig Thorpe
